Manji comes from the Blade of the Immortal manga that handles some pretty dark topics and sometimes it handles those topics very poorly in the source material. Typically I avoid getting into most of the really dark topics as Manji was not actively involved in some of it and therefore is not aware of it. Regardless of what Manji was involved in I can completely understand if someone would like to avoid tagging with Manji because of what is in his canon.

Please use this post to let me know if you'd like me to avoid tagging you or a specific character. There are no hard feelings. I am almost more than willing to talk about specific concerns if someone has any!

MAGICAL INFORMATION: Manji has magic worms that means he's basically immortal. He can only be killed by beheading, drowning, freezing, or being set on fire.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: See above; due to the worms he heals from most injuries within minutes and can even reattach limbs.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Manji's clothes has the Manji symbol on his back. While many may look and see the Nazi's Swastika symbol this was not the intention, as it is a Buddhist symbol in Japanese culture. See this post for more articles that can explain this better than I can.

Also note: Manji's canon has some really dark material in it. While Manji isn't involved in most of it and the only thing that might come up is medical experimentation that was done on him. I don't plan to bring up the following in his tags, but please be aware if checking on his canon it includes: graphic violence, murder, child murder, sexual assault including rape, grooming, prostitution, animal cruelty, talk of very implied pedophilia and necrophilia, and talk of abortion.

Please use my opt out post if you'd like me to always avoid specific topics or if you'd like to avoid Manji completely.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: Most noticeably, from the point in canon that he's taken from, Manji only has one arm as he is missing his left arm. Manji's face has three scars. One across his forehead, one across his nose just below both eyes, and a horizontal one that goes down his right eye. He is missing that eye because of the old injury. He has black hair that he normally keeps tied up in a pony tail. He also has two scars across his chest in the shape of an X. His legs and arm also have a variety of scars on them.
AURAL: A gruff voice as Manji is a man who prefers not to have much social interaction. (Note: Link contains a fight and blood starting around the 1:07 mark)
OLFACTORY: While I'm not saying that Manji doesn't bathe, he is from the 18th century. Washing wasn't as common as it is now so he can occasionally be a bit musky.
DEMEANOUR: Manji can come off as gruff and cold. A hardened samurai who acts tough and as if he prefers to be feared and hated. While initially he will try to brush most people off and away, deep down he actually has a fairly big heart.

Note on Manji's clothes

The symbol on the back of Manji's kimono is not a swastika. It is a sauvastika. Manji's name is the literal Japanese word for sauvastika. It is suppose to be a symbol of balanced opposites in the Buddhist religion. This means symbol has a much different meaning for the Japanese culture.

This article and this article go into the difference a bit better than I can.

No. The character on the back of Manji's kimono (robe) is not a swastika. It is a sauvstika. Adolf Hitler, in addition to being a mass-murdering f*&khead and a vegetarian painter, also had a slight tendency to steal other culture's well-known symbols and stick them onto Naziism. In the original Hindu religion, a swastika symbolised day and openness, while a sauvstika stood for night and secrets. The sauvstika is just a mirror image of the swastika. These symbols were widely known in Southeast and East Asia because of the popularity of Buddhism, and the fact that Buddhist monks had a tendency to travel and pick up bits of other religions, mostly Hinduism. Manji is actually the Japanese word for sauvstika. On a side note, Nazis did not yet exist during the time period in which Blade of the Immortal is set.
